Position Description 

As the Accounting Assistant for the Missouri Reign, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, tracking revenue streams, managing expenses, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

(Note: An accounting background is required for this position.)


Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Financial Recordkeeping:

    • Maintain detailed and organized financial records for all revenue streams, including ticket sales, merchandise sales, sponsorships, and other sources of income.

    • Record and reconcile financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.

  2. Filing and Documentation:

    • Assist with the preparation and filing of various financial documents, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

    • Maintain organized and secure records for audits and internal reviews.

  3. Tax Compliance:

    • Assist in preparing documentation for tax filings and work closely with external accountants as needed.

    • Stay updated on tax regulations affecting the sports and entertainment industry.

  4. Expense Tracking:

    • Track and categorize all team expenses, including but not limited to player salaries, travel expenses, equipment purchases, and facility costs.

    • Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of expenditures.

  5. Financial Reporting:

    • Generate regular financial reports, providing insights into the team's financial performance.

    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.

  6. Budget Assistance:

    • Collaborate with management to assist in the preparation of budgets for various departments and events.

    • Monitor budget adherence and provide analysis on budget variances.

  7. Vendor and Supplier Payments:

    • Process payments to vendors and suppliers accurately and in a timely manner.

    • Reconcile accounts payable to ensure accurate financial reporting.

  8. Financial Analysis:

    • Provide support in financial analysis projects, helping management make informed decisions based on financial data.

  9. Collaboration with External Partners:

    • Work closely with external partners, such as auditors, tax professionals, and financial institutions, to ensure smooth collaboration and compliance.


- A strong background in accounting with relevant educational qualifications.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
