Position Description
Missouri Reign is seeking a General Manager who will serve as a connector, planner, and leader, helping the organization function smoothly year-round.
This role complements the work of the coaching staff and board, offering support in the offseason and stepping into a more active leadership role during the season so others can stay focused on coaching, player development, and strategy.
Responsibilities
Your Responsibilities will include:
Offseason – Support and Coordination
Assist staff and board with preseason planning, including scheduling, league communications, and logistics.
Maintain key documents, timelines, and communication channels across departments.
Help prepare travel plans, player onboarding materials, and operational needs.
Coordinate preseason events and training sessions in collaboration with coaching and operations staff.
Attend planning meetings and offer logistical support so staff can stay focused on long-term goals.
In-Season – Leadership and Execution
Take a lead role in game day execution, managing checklists, timelines, and team needs.
Act as the primary point of contact on game days for referees, opponents, and league officials.
Oversee team logistics such as travel, arrival times, uniforms, locker room access, and player needs.
Troubleshoot last-minute issues so staff can focus on game preparation and player management.
Ensure all departments are aligned and equipped for home and away matches.
Team Operations & Management
Coordinate and manage all operational aspects of the team including scheduling, travel, and logistics.
Act as the main liaison between coaches, players, league officials, and staff.
Oversee player recruitment, contracts, and compliance with league regulations.
Work with coaching staff to support player development and team performance goals.
Staff Leadership & Coordination
Lead and supervise administrative and support staff.
Facilitate clear communication across departments including coaching, marketing, broadcast, and event operations.
Manage volunteer and intern programs to ensure effective contributions to the team.
Financial Oversight
Develop and manage the team’s budget in collaboration with ownership and finance teams.
Monitor expenditures and revenue streams, including sponsorships, ticket sales, and merchandise.
Assist with fundraising initiatives and grant applications to support team growth.
Marketing & Community Relations
Work with marketing and communications teams to enhance the team’s brand and public presence.
Build relationships with community partners, sponsors, and media outlets.
Represent the team at league meetings, community events, and promotional activities.
Strategic Planning & Growth
Develop short- and long-term strategic plans to grow the team’s competitive success and fanbase.
Identify opportunities for new revenue streams and partnerships.
Monitor industry trends and implement best practices to improve organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports management, general management, or a related leadership role.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of semi-professional sports operations and league regulations preferred.
- Budgeting and financial management experience a plus.
- Passion for soccer and community engagement highly desirable.
